Transfer Students
Are you applying to transfer mid-year or for the 8th-12th grade next fall? Fill out the application above, and make sure to select the year you hope to attend the school. You will also need to submit a transcripts to the school. We use transcripts to work with you to create a graduation plan that will ensure that you are college-eligible at graduation. Enrollment FAQ

Applicants for 6th-9th grade need to submit the Impact Academy application online. Applicants to 10th, 11th or 12th grade must also submit their high school transcripts, attendance records and discipline records.
No. Impact Academy’s enrollment process is completely separate from HUSD.
6th graders are selected by lottery. 7th – 12th graders are accepted if space becomes available in the grade. For all transfer students, an administrator meets with applicants and families to discuss their path to graduation at Impact, but this conversation does not affect admission.
No. Impact Academy is a small school with a limited number of spaces in each grade level. When you apply for 6th grade you are entered into a lottery from which the 6th-grade class will be chosen. If you are applying for 7th-12th grade, the number of available spaces will depend on how many of our current students plan to return for the following year.
Students must confirm their intent to attend within a month after they are first offered a spot. A “Confirmation Form” will be included with the Offer Letter; this form can be returned by mail, email or in person. Students who apply after the application deadline and are offered a spot may have a shorter window of time in which to decide.
If you miss the deadline your applications will be added to the Wait List. Wait List applicants are then admitted as spaces become available.
There is no entrance exam. After being accepted, all incoming 6th and 9th grade students are tested. All 9th grade students are scheduled to take Academic Numeracy and Algebra I in their freshman year; students wishing to pursue alternate placement must come to Impact and pass the Math Placement Test.
Yes. If we receive more applicants than open seats, we will run a lottery with a preference for low-income families (defined as families zoned for elementary schools with over 70% free and reduced lunch students). Siblings and children of teachers and staff are also given priority.
Once you have been offered and have accepted a spot, you will need to provide a copy of the student’s birth certificate and most recent vaccination records (including the TDAP whooping cough vaccination), along with the complete Impact Academy enrollment packet. The enrollment packet will be provided at the 9th Grade Welcome Event (usually held in April) and is also available in the main office.
Impact will accept mid-year transfers if there is space available.
There is no separate application process for students with IEPs. However, we request that any student with an IEP submit a copy of their most recent IEP once they have been accepted to the school.
There are several reasons Impact requires an application. As a school of choice, Impact Academy wants to ensure that students use the application process as a way to decide if Impact is right for you. Also, the information listed on the application helps us to get to know students, their particular needs and pertinent personal and family information.
No, absolutely not! Our teachers use art and technology as tools for expression and engagement in the classroom. A student might use art to demonstrate understanding of principles or geometry, or create a video on iMovie to show what they have learned in Social Studies. Most students who attend Impact do not have special talents in arts or technology, but enjoy using them as tools for showing what they know.
