As Filipino Heritage Month comes to a close, we want to recognize and uplift our vibrant Filipino community at Impact Academy.

We are incredibly proud of our Filipino student-led club, which meets every Monday after school in RM 16 from 4:00-4:50 PM. This club provides a space for connection, support, and cultural appreciation, fostering a strong sense of community among our students. It's a joint club with Middle School as well as High School.

Introducing: Leadership Council 📋

🗓️ Our second meeting with be held on November 13th from 5:30-6:30 pm in the Community Room. This will be a chance for our community members, parents, students, teachers, as well support staff to provide input on important topics and build community. The Impact Academy Leadership Council serves as our Local Governance. Meetings of the Leadership Council shall be held in accordance with the Brown Act.

What is the Brown Act?
📝 The Brown Act is a California law that ensures local government meetings are open and transparent to the public. It requires that meetings be held in public and community members have the opportunity to participate and share their voices.

🔔The purpose for the Leadership Council it to address and provide an opportunity for the school community to give input on instructional and non-instructional issues as they pertain to Impact Academy, including:

-Curriculum
-Budget
-Schedule
-Student Health and Welfare
-And other issues and deemed appropriate

We look forward to building community and discussing community concerns.

Happy Tuesday Spartans! Día De Los Muertos is right around the corner. In partnership with M.E.Ch.A, Impact Academy is looking for parent volunteers to help set up our ofrenda. We are also kindly asking for donations to make our ofrenda come to life.
